Algeria won the 2014 men’s handball CAN !

Algeria’s national men’s handball team won the 21st edition of the African Nations Championship after defeating title holders Tunisia 25-21 (first half: 12-11) at a final game played Saturday evening in Algiers.
Both teams have qualified for the World Championship 2015 in Qatar alongside Egypt who finished third.
It is Algeria’s seventh handball CAN title after those of 1981, 1983, 1985, 1987, 1989 and 1996.The Algerian team has taken over from Tunisia, the former African champion, which has won a total of nine titles.
Egypt ranked third after it defeated Angola (31-24).The Africa Cup of Nations 2016 will take place in Egypt.
